As a Landman, you will be working directly with the Business Development, Land, and Land Administration teams on a variety of acquisition and asset management projects. This position requires a motivated self-starter who is able to work independently with good decision-making skills while gathering and analyzing complex data from a wide range of sources. The source of data includes but is not limited to leases, contracts, division orders, title opinions, curative, and other such related documents.

Responsibilities
Conduct due diligence for the acquisition and sale of mineral, royalty and overriding royalty interests, which would include performing leasehold and mineral title examinations and reviewing spacing orders, force pooling orders, pooling agreements, allocation agreements, operating agreements, confidentiality agreements, oil and gas leases, and assignments of leasehold interest
Prepare, review, and revise legal contracts for the acquisition of mineral, royalty and overriding royalty interests
Prepare closing statements related to the acquisition of mineral, royalty and overriding royalty interests
Handle lease inquiries by gathering information, analyzing each offer, conferring with other professionals, recommending a negotiating position, negotiating under management’s direction, and following through on successful negotiations by preparing accurate leases
Ensure all interests are incorporated into land management system
Negotiate damage claims, rights-of-way, easement, etc.
Advise division order and title analyst personnel regarding title matters including the preparation of all curative items needed for the interests to be placed in pay status with the appropriate operators
Oversee contract land personnel and all costs associated therewith
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Energy Management Degree or law degree from an accredited university required
Minimum 2 years experience or a maximum of 6 years experience in a similar role required
Experience with GIS and Land Systems
Must be proficient in using advanced Microsoft Excel functions
Effective negotiation, advocacy, and influencing skills
Strong critical thinking skills; ability to exercise business judgment and make sound decisions
Detail-oriented and capable of producing results in time-constrained situations
Adaptable to changing business needs and requests
Acquisitions and divestitures experience
Surface fee / easements / ROW acquisition experience
