Division Order Technician

The company is currently investing capital out of its second equity commitment from NGP under Elk Range Royalties II, LP. Elk Range Royalties III, LP is expected to be launched in early 2025.

Job Summary

As Division Order Technician, you are responsible for supporting analysts in determining the ownership of minerals by collecting records, preparing correspondence, and processing division and transfer orders timely. The incumbent must verify the company’s interest, assist with data audits and create and file documents. The Division Order Technician will also assist with various projects, such as property research, acquisition and divestiture projects, and data entry as needed. This position will be based in Dallas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary: 

  • Support Division Order Analysts in determining ownership of mineral and royalty interests through research and analysis of various contracts and legal documents and by identifying and locating interest owners and their heirs when curative is required

  • Prepare and process division orders and/or transfer of ownership by collecting, evaluating, and interpreting necessary records and relevant documentation, including obtaining the required signatures internally to execute documents to return to operators

  • Timely communicate with operators in order to collect applicable documentation, such as division orders, transfer orders, and other contracts and legal documents to validate ownership

  • Timely and accurately process and distribute division and transfer orders to the operator

  • Create and maintain accurate files, documents and records

  • Assist with projects such as unclaimed property research, acquisition and divestiture projects, and data audits to confirm accuracy and compliance with state and federal statutes

  • Other tasks as assigned 

Skills and Experience

  • High School or equivalent required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Division Orders, Land Administration or Land preferred

  • Maximum of 5 years experience in the above-mentioned fields

  • Working knowledge of Division Orders, Legal and/or Title experience preferred

  • Experience with land software databases such as MineralSoft and DrillingInfo preferred

  • Established proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with emphasis in Excel and Word

  • Familiarity with various State (OK, TX, NM, UT, CO, LA, OH, WV, PA), Federal and BLM regulations preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate information to operator(s) and build and maintain effective relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization

  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills

  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy

  • Must be goal oriented, approaching projects with a sense of urgency and drive

  • Must have the ability to seek out, implement and adapt to new technologies, workflows and processes

  • Must be team player who possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
