Division Order Analyst
Role Description
The Division Order Analyst will set up and maintain all well records for our mineral and royalty interests to insure accurate payment of royalty and bonus payments. This key role will analyze deeds, leases, contracts, unitization and marketing arrangements. This role will also update ownership records on existing wells and communicate with operators to confirm interests and our accounting group regarding our interests.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities Include
• Onboard mineral and royalty acquisitions into our ownership systems, timely and correctly.
• Provide operators with all necessary change of ownership information in order to make certain that we are in pay status as soon as possible after an acquisition or after a new well is completed.
• Obtain title information and division orders from operators for all new wells drilled on our mineral and/or royalty interests.
• Follow-up with operators and purchasers to ensure timely payment of proceeds from production of all Company owned assets.
• Ensure royalty payments comply with state statutes, with the ability to seek punitive interest penalties if any are owed to us.
• Interpret title documentation, such as mineral and leasehold ownership reports, title opinions, assignments, operating agreements, mineral and/or royalty deeds, farmout agreements, and probate documents to determine ownership for input and maintenance of ownership systems.
• Work with Landman/Lease Analyst to ensure that all title issues are resolved on our internal interests
• Review oil and gas leases to identify provisions that affect proper royalty payment
• Work in connection with Land group to cure title defects that affect division of interest ownership and suspense.
• Work with various accounting personnel to notify of decks to use in accounting processes.
• Monitor drilled well schedules for information related to date of first production and subsequent date of first payment.
• Assist with all data audits to confirm accuracy and compliancy.
• Various other projects or duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
• Experience as a landman preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a division order analyst, landman or land administration required
Skills / Attributes Desired
• Ability to multi-task and switch directions with little or no notice and obtain results in a performance driven, team-oriented environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment, under-occasional stressful conditions and meet deadlines as assigned.
